The story

October 14, 1943. Of the 291 B-17s sent to Schweinfurt, sixty never came home. Gunner Sam Cade is one of them. He wakes in a quiet room: a man from the Red Cross, a cup of hot coffee and a form to fill in. Three lines are easy. The other nine are not.

Based on real events. Sam Cade and the other characters are fictional.
